Often when people use or purchase multiple planners, I always wonder why. What are they using them for? How often are they using them for? And is that working for them?
Earlier this week I posted a Hobonichi Techo 2017 haul where you saw that I had purchased a few planners. I did briefly mention the reason for each one, but I thought I’d go into a bit more depth as to why I purchased them and whether I honestly felt I would use them the way I intend.
Original Avec A6 Book
The biggest reason for this set is definitely to improve my drawing and water colouring skills. I did a great job at practicing a lot in 2015, but I fell short of this objective when 2016 came around. I think one of the big reasons behind this was how thick my original book got. I’m hoping for 2017, by splitting them into two books this will help solve my original problem.
Having a book purely dedicated to abstract drawing that I’m under no pressure to “showcase” really helps me destress and just zone out into a different world for a while. The process is very theraputic, one I recommend to everyone. Especially those who typically have a fast paced hectic day life.
Hobonichi A6 Original
At work, I typcially store a spirl notebook which I jot down notes for during meetings. One of the issues I have with this process is that the notebook isn’t dated and so it’s easy for me to lose track of when notes were taken.
I purchase this in the hopes that it would help keep me more organised at work with my note taking. I’m not 100% confident this is the correct solution for me, but I’m hoping it’ll add a bit more structure.
Hobonichi A5 Original Cousin
This is basically the equviantly for the A6 version above, only I intend to leave this one at home. I used one during 2015 and found it great to have a single source of truth for all my plans across day job, sticker store, blogging, youtube and personal life.
My Erin Condren is simply too tight and honestly public to jot down activities for my day job and personal life, so I’m hoping to use this to cover everything.
Hobonichi Weeks
This is honestly the one I’m the most unsure about, because I constantly go back and forth between this and my Midori inserts.
I love that it isn’t too big, but still long enough so that I can comfortably take notes but also carry it everywhere with me. I’ll admit though, the cat cover is pretty much what pushed me over the edge.
So those are my reasons, I always start off the year with all these grand plans but I can already tell you that come the start of 2017, I’ll likely try and do a planner setup / round up video and that may look very different to what you see here!
Ah such is planner life!
