Moving right along from my last video, weβve officially landed on the first full week we have in Japan π
After Kobe, we took the train back over to Osaka where we decided to spend a few nights. The original plan was to stay in Kyoto but we were visiting during the Sakura / Cherry Blossom season so everything was generally a lot more expensive! However we found that staying at similar hotels in Kyoto vs Osaka came with a rough price increase of around $100 a night! Which seemed silly to pay from our perspective since we had already stayed in Kyoto last time and the train ride between the two wasn’t a big deal!
Osaka is a bit like a smaller, less hectic version of Tokyo in my opinion. Kinda like Sydney vs Melbourne in terms of size and busyness. We spent a lot of time shopping, eating and visiting some old favourites such as Fushimi Inari, Nara and this time we visit Arashiyama Bamboo Forest which… was not as impressive as I had hoped. The photos you see online are very well angled letβs just say π
After Osaka we took the train over to Nagoya to spent the night! I’ve never been there before so it was a great experience to see what it was all like, we managed to visit the Castle and had a wonderful time exploring the streets (despite the poor weather).
Our final stop for the week was Mt Fuji / Lake Kawaguchi! We booked a beautiful Ryokan with our own private Onsen that came with a view of Mt Fuji (though it was cloudy the whole time which was disappointing) and I have to say I think this was the highlight of the trip for me~ So relaxing and peaceful, and really gave me some great time to think and reflect upon the year π
I’m not sure if anyone else had noticed, but after coming back from Japan, both Tobias and I have become a lot more active online regarding our online businesses and I attribute that a lot to the time we took to relax at Lake Kawaguchi. We cleared our minds and were able to really focus on what we wanted out of life together π
If I could take anything away from this trip, is that scheduling time to really relax and be in an environment where the stresses of day to day aren’t around is extremely important from a mental and emotional health perspective. And if you are looking for ways to drive motivation and stay productive, I think this is the perfect way to do it!
